Kidney Donation
In April of 2024, I donated my kidney to Aaron Portzline, beat writer for the Athletic. The story was covered by local and national outlets.
Whitney Harding’s story on NBC4 was nominated for a regional Emmy.
NHL Awards
Due to the overwhelming response to the kidney donation, I was fortunate enough to be chosen to present the James Norris Memorial Trophy at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas in 2024 alongside Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things). The awards show aired nationally on ESPN.
Musial Award
In November 2024, I received a Musial Award for my sportsmanship with the kidney donation. It was a great honor to share our story nationally on CBS, encouraging others to consider donation.
Inspiring Women Class of 2025
I was named to Columbus Monthly’s Class of 2025 Inspiring Women. The honor included a feature story in the May issue of the magazine and culminated with a Q&A and reception in June.
